Born January, 17th, 1994 as Andrew Sterling Carter, my imagination and creativity has always played a key role  in how I went through school and  thought in general. You may know that I live for History, and believe it or not, I could have cared less for it five years ago. It was just another subject in school that you had to pass. It all started when I was curious about who my ancestors were, where they lived and what they might have accomplished. The first place I went was the family Cemetery in Person County where I looked at the gravestones in my bloodline and It stopped at my Great Great Grandfather, Andrew Jackson Carter, who I was named after. I wondered and puzzled, "It has to go somewhere else; this is not the end." I went to the the Register of Deeds and with the help of my Great Aunt who also has a love for history, in one years time, I had traced my family to John Carter, Born 1450. If you set your mind to certain things, you can accomplish your goal, and I prooved to myself that It could be done. On through middle school at N.L Dillard, i would occasionally write short stories, but would never finish them. Still, however, I always had a feeling that I would finish one. In eighth grade, I came up with an idea, in honor of my Carter Ancestors, to write a book during the Civil War. I always had read books and studied about wars and peace, but I never looked deeper into the subject than I already was. Back to the writings section of the site, you can see how I started my book. I've been an active member in the Caswell County Historical Association since 2005, and I serve as a tour guide all year round for the Caswell County Courthouse, the Old Caswell County Jail and Old Poteat One Room schoolhouse. When I finish High School, I plan to be working if not finished on a second novel; ironically, the second one will be a true story, but I can't reveal secrets too soon. In College, I plan to major in US History and prehaps a minor in English. There, now you know who I am and what I stand for.
